Spinner on vacation

Post by digitroll (ron) »

Brian asked me to post this beast he landed this morning off the beach. Took 20 minutes to get him to shore. Looks like a fun vacation Brian! Surf is up! Glad it's not the Sandbar State Park. Thanks for sharing Brian!

When I rolled it over on the beach to get the hook out I then noticed it had teeth. At first i thought it was a sand shark so after seeing a full set of dentures I decided to put on a pair of gloves and a set of pliers. They are not slimy at all it more like sand paper.

Have had them in past when handling, remove all finger prints when you hold them bare handed. Learned that the hard way.

I assumed it was a sand shark - what is it? Dusky?

Not a sand shark. I think what people said was a baby blue. I have only got sand sharks down there before usually 3 or 4 a year. I was fishing on Robert Moses Beach on Long Island for the first day and then up farther east to Coopers Beach in Southampton Long Island
