Received a Fish Hawk for my birthday and so when my son and I got to Split Rock about 5PM we sent it down on the rigger and found a temperature break at 70' in 150 FoW.
We set up two riggers at 75 and 60 and fished south in 80-150 FoW. Marked a lot of fish...many more than we had seen in our last few tries in that area. Went 2 for 2. Both salmon about 20" long. The one we kept for dinner for tonight weighed 3.8 lbs. Both were caught on Honeybees. One hit a black and silver MP6 running behind an 8" green flasher. The other was caught on a large white and orange honeybee. Both fish were caught in a span of 10 minutes. We circled back, marking fish frequently, but had to break off to pick up the missus at Point Bay.
Will try to post pics later. Beautiful night, waves settled down by about 6PM. Sun was strong (and annoying at times when trying to read our Helix 7).
