August inland sea trolling... 8/4 wife's personal best
Hit the sea at 8am with wife... Told her it would blow... And blow it did.. Started smooth and kicked up to 2 footers by 9am. We picked away at small salmon for a while and headed north with cedar to our east. It was 10:20am and the port rigger fired hard. It was 85 ft down with a orange and copper speedy back 20.
Theresa jumped on the rod and began the fight, I pulled it outta gear and left boat drift at 2mph north. By this time we had 3 footers and white caps as far as you could see south. Once the fish hit the warm water it was over...
Theresa got a good look at him during the fight and got pretty excited... She didn't want a net error ...
6.9lbs. 24" kyped male... Her best salmon ever....
I had told her we would get one chance at a nice fish, and she made it stick....
Ended at 9 salmon and 3 yellow perch. This was only fish worth taking pics of....
Fish on!

Great catch for your wife Reelax !! Congrats. Know the feeling when our better halfs boat a good fish after an active fight. My wife and fished the IS twice in the last 2 weeks, marked a lot of fish between 55 and 85 feet, no biters, apart from white perch. I haven't had time to post reports, but the strange thing again was no defined thermocline. My FishHawk TD indicated between 71 to 58 degrees down to 60 feet. I had dropped in a 100 feet of water, and got a reading of 52 to 48 degrees at 70 to 80 feet respectively. Bent rods and tight lines

Nice!! While the overall numbers are low, it's shaping up to be a good season for some larger thank average silvers.
