I have a non-fisherman ex-brother in law that lives near there. I took a "boat ride" on Flaming Gorge once but didn't wet a line.
What a massive fish!

I think I caught that fish in 1989. It had the same color, but was a lot smaller and slimmer Catch and release pays off.

GOD'S COUNTRY. Flaming gorge is known for monsters, I believe it held a world record for brown trout for a bit. I think it was in the 30 lb range. Del Canty was a fisher in that area during the 70's, he would fish from a float tube for rainbows as long as his leg.

I looked into fishing there this year as part of a visit to see friends in Utah. A number of guide services seem to specialize in jigging for big lakers.
