Main lake 7/10 first Steelie of the year

Post by OUTCAST »

Went out for a few hours tonight in the main lake. Marked a few bait balls around with some fish on them finally, which was encouraging. Ended up with 1 steelhead first one of the year for me. 22" and skinny,. But she put on a amazing Arial show. Trying to add photo keeps saying file too large. Anyway caught over 120 fow. Rigger down 60 on a cheater. Pink crazy ivan was the spoon of choice for her.

Last week we have caught a steelhead on each of two outings. Not large - around 18-20". One on VT side and one in Whallons. Nice to see something in net besides lake trout.

Thanks to post on forum about laker survivability, we've been very careful about not handling and releasing from net.

Nice fish, encouraging. What I've been doing with pics from my phone to get them to attach is text them to myself, or have someone else take the pic and text them to you, send them to your gallery and they must get automatically resized by the phone company and then they will attatch. I find this the easiest way to post a picture, but only in fishing reports.

Nice not many anglers are getting Steele's on the lake or if they do their not posting anything
looks like the fishing is getting better, or we the anglers are finally figuring how to fish them this
season it's been a tough year for sure...thanks for the report.
