Just a little excitement in the video
When I grow up I want to be,
One of those harvesters of the sea.
I think before my days are done,
I want to be a fisherman.

Day 2 update....
Started same place, time and crew on Sunday. The lake had calmed overnight and we made a 5 mile run south to a spot on the NY shore to setup...
It was a nice mostly sunny morning and very easy fishin..
The bite started right off and we were at 5 fish by 7am... Mostly 18"-20" fish and lakers mixed in.
Riggers and slide divers rules the day..
We pulled out a couple of secret weapons;
The lakers got bigger..
Then Mark pulled out a snack and we all saw why we didn't catch anything bigger than the day before.....
We filled the live well with silver to bring to the fry, water temps being perfect for this...
At the award ceremony we found out Dave's fish got 1st and was the same weight at the
1st place lake trout!! I think that is a 1st!
We ended the derby with only 27 fish boated, but the one that counts made it all special!
Thanks to a great crew for a derby I will never forget!
Fish on!

Will Dave's winning be enough to mount that beauty as well as beer for the rest of the crew?

As is traditional the winnings get split evenly across the whole crew....
Boat effort, boat rewards..
Enough for beer, and a good start on the mounting costs...

Wow! Just plain Wow! I don't think anyone is going to blame you a bit for getting just a tad excited when you netted that fish. Just a little over a pound shy of the all time state record and an absolute monster. The only problem now is, how do you top that?
Congratulations to the whole crew. Now, who was weak in the knees after getting it in the boat?
