I never had my boat out in the winter. But that may change soon. So for you that do fish in the cold weather do you do any thing to winterize your boat and motor after your trip?
Thanks DON

After tilting the motor all the way down after loading your boat let it drain thoroughly. Outboards are self draining. Start the motor and run for 5 seconds and let it blow the rest of the water out. If you have a wash down pump make sure you squirt all the water out of it. Those are expensive over $200 if they freeze and break the pump. That should do it!

It doesn't hurt to hook a short piece of hose to the flushing port to blow air thru as well. Sometimes a low spot in the line will collect a little water as well that doesn't fully drain.

Just to add, after taking your boat out Use environmentally safe anti freeze in your wash down.... Will save a pump....
