Great stuff, it has other good info with multiple lures too. You could modify that system by just watching your line counter to target whatever depth you want like. Or I believe you could stack like a planer board and even put more lines to the one rigger.

neat trick, but as you keep adding weight to the rigger cable, blow back will increase i would think?

I agree! But the example was only 25 feet down, so maybe it won't be too bad? Also, once the bottom goes off you have to start over anyway and maybe the sinker weight could be adjusted slightly ( smaller ), but the rougher the water, the stronger the current, the more wind are all potential problems. But under the right conditions it may still be a decent tool?

I typically use a sliding cheater rather than stacking lines. But not a bad idea. It would only work for when your top line releases.

I have used that method for a few years when I have had to. Our salmon rarely go deeper than 40 feet so blowback isn't an issue. When fishing for togue (lake trout), blowback is noticeable but not all that much different than using a fixed stacker such as a Chamberlain.

Hi Jim,
Hope all is well with you.We have used this technique on LC before and it works,When I run all 4 riggers though, things can get a little tangled up in a hurry, mostly I run sliders if the fish are not too deep

When I first used downriggers, we used rubber bands as stackers. But some of the bands were so good, Kings would have a tough time breaking them. Then we went to sliders and changed the way we reeled in after a strike ... very fast to remove the belly and all the slack to get to the fish and hope we weren't too late!. but that seemed to be the most productive way ... for us.
