Correct..it will long distance release the lakers once it registers that you are fully aware of the species on your line. However...I believe it's the digitroll II model. Cannon doesn't show the manual as being available on their website but I'd be willing to bet they could provide you with a scanned copy if you asked.

They sell parts for cannon and are a great resource.
