Questions:
Why do some slide divers have 2 arms ?
What pound Test does everyone use , running these?
Is it better to use wire line ?

The two arm diver is a "litebite", shakers will trigger this design where you may drag them with the original.
I just started running a litebite last summer and the reel is set up with 30lb braid and a 12ft florocarbon leader, 10lb test. After a few trips and getting the hang of it, it's the first rod I put out now.

Lite bite sets got 5 of 6 salmon on last trip with 4 other rods getting only 1.

Braid line is key... need nonstretch to trigger diver, and braid will run deeper as it thinner. Leader does all the work

What action and length of rod do you use with this set up? Have never really used slide divers or the Lite Bite but it looks real interesting. I hade a Dipsey but never really liked the set up, its pretty cool with the Lite Bite where you can vary the line length behind the diver.

...and you don't need the spring or tubing with braid. You just need one of the little 1/4" pieces of tubing on the line before it enters the slider body.

As mentioned in previous posts, it's a 3:1 line out to depth ratio on setting 4. Leader length can be whatever you want any time you send it out.

That's with no ring and the standard weight.

One thing to remember with the braid is not to set hooks. Learned that enough times being broken off. Grab and reel!

Great information in this thread. I consider myself pretty proficient about most techniques but the light bite is giving me fits. Just this weekend I bumped bottom in 34 feet of water with 60 feet of line out on a #3 setting. That is with 50 pound braid, 2.2 to 2.3 mph SOG, and trolling in as straight a line as possible. I though maybe my line counter was off but I measured at home it is spot on. Fun to learn and play. It is all part of the game.

It would surprise me as it is a smaller lake, about 1000 acres.
