I plan on brown fishing thru the ice on Thursday, good to see how they bite. Plan is to jig smelt then use em On tip ups. Looks like they bite the entire bait instead of nipping, good to know. Thanks for the post.

I did get out there after them but once again I lost all of them haha. Had one that ran with a 7 inch smelt but spit after peeling 50yrds off tip up. Rookie mistake with hook selection and hook turned back into the bait when I went to set it.
