A little help, please guys!

Post by flyguy »

I have 30 buddies coming to Burlington area for our 43rd annual "The Pikers" fishing weekend on Friday. What with the tough ice conditions this year, we had been planning to hit the Islands, but I realized that the Champlain Islands Fishing Derby is this weekend. Does anyone have a report as to the ice conditions at Lake Winona in Bristol, by any chance. This is a pond we have fished in years past, and I'm thinking it might be nice to go back for a re-visit, but am concerned with the ice condition. Other suggestions welcome - looking for C&R pike, and safe ice.

Maybe Colchester pond would be an option.. I know it used to be great for ice pike... Not sure what the ice is like, but after the cold we are getting this weekend, it should be fine.

Thanks guys! Good idea, Colchester. Should have good ice by Sat. morning with this cold snap. Appreciate the tip. May try Fairfield, too.
