Middle Saranac

Post by cnmt237 »

Went out last Friday on an annual fishing/camping trip to the Middle Saranac Lake for 3 nights. Great weather both Friday and Saturday with incredible moonrises while fishing. Sunday the wind blew until after 8 pm so it was easier to lounge around camp added to the fact the fishing was difficult. Between three of us we managed only a few legal fish either bass or northerns, but nothing worth taking pictures of. Tried Senkos, Rapalas, topwater, spinnerbaits, jigs, pretty much threw tackle boxes at them without much to show for it. Most likely live bait would have changed things, but in past trips we could usually figure something out. Otherwise a great trip, good friends, good food, cold beer.

No hiking involved, we go mainly to fish. The camping makes fishing convenient. We use a site that is sand beach so we simply have to run the boats up on shore. Great place to spend a few days.
