Inland sea ice out

Post by Wdrnr »

Ice on the move in the sea. Keelers open as of yesterday. Outer Malletts blown out. From my window, both sides of Savage north and south and Georgia shore blown out. There is some roving ice pack but after today we should be good to go. No docks in yet at Sandbar.

Great news... it’s almost time for the Keelers invasion. I can see 25 boats there a week from today!!! That early bite in Keelers is a sign spring is upon us... took its time to open this year but it will be worth the wait. We must boated over 100 salmon in keelers last spring in about 3 wks after ice out...

See ya there

Well it’s not as close as I hoped. The massive ice sheet that is the inland sea, while blown open, has piled into the Sandbar area on the NW wind. We need a good south to finish the job .

Wind advisory for Monday. Southeast 20-30 gusts to 50. Should help. Warmer by next weekend.

Fished yesterday AM (4/19) out of South Hero. Docks still not in at Guilmette launch. Ice still present from just east of the sandbar bridge to Georgia shore. Some ice present southeast of Keeler bay mouth. Water temps 36-38 through Keeler.

No hookups, but did see a silver jump clear behind another boat.
