Help with SUNY Buoy

Post by EricL »

We are excited that the fishing community has enthusiastically used our data buoy observations. Part of our goal is to continue providing observations to the general public.

A number of folks have asked how they can help or if we can expand what we measure. We'd love to! However, our funding is limited and ending after this field season.

We have begun a fundraising campaign to help "keep the buoy afloat". All donations are tax-deductible and will solely be used to keep our current data buoy operational and expand what we measure (and share with you!). Any donation amount is helpful to our cause!

Also: Keep an eye out for our app/website that will allow you to share your own measurements of water temperature and view observations of others. Our goal is to help you share information with each other while also using your “citizen science” observations to better understand Lake Champlain. Coming soon!

It was great to meet many of you at the March 18 Lake Champlain United event in Burlington! Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about our project. A few of you have and it's great to share our work with you!

Best to you all,
Eric
