Thanks...all I would consider having done. About how much $/inch? Suspect not cheap for such good work.

The "fake" fiberglass reproductions don't appeal to me, even though a "skin mount" is undoubtedly on a fiberglass, styrofoam, etc, core...it's still "MY" fish.

Do skin-mounts have any odor, like during humid weather?

With the fiberglass, you don't actually need have even caught the fish...sort of like buying a Purple Heart medal on eBay and framing it.
Mine is a skin mount. I guess I never thought of stolen valor and fiberglass in same analogy before, that's funny.

You should call Doug direct for prices... He is in the book. He tries to keep prices low and I can tell you the mounts are between 300 and 400 for salmon size fish. He adds a hunk of drift wood and there are taxes... But if you calculate Dougs time by HR, I don't even think he makes minimum wage!

I can tell you his prices are lower than any other fish artist I have talked to in the North East... (Half the price of some)

This one is a replica he just did for me...

It's more expensive, but well worth it...

Never any smell from any of the mounts I have gotten done. They are all hung on walls in the house.

Good luck

I have 3 skin mounts up in my house. 1 from doug, 2 from Florida and they don't have an odor.
