Thanks Andre... I think having it in print now with the 2017-18 guide should end this debate.

See you dug a little deeper since we talked yesterday Andre, I would say that it is now public knowledge with it in writing, thanks for posting...

Great finding André. It's officially in writing.
No more ambiguity and arguing.

It's not so bad. I fish alone a lot also. I will run a down rigger with a slider and a planer board or two down riggers and two sliders... So I usually have at least 3 lures in the water. That allows for a lot of coverage in depth and a variety of lures as well :D

I was told this was law last summer while being checked near Plattsburgh. When Vermont becomes 3 lines on Champlain, N.Y. will reciprocate, is the word I got then. We don't need to lobby NY to change, just Vt.

I could be wrong but if I remember correctly from this discussion last year, two lines means two baits/lures, meaning no sliders. I fish a lot of solos too and was told by non-enforcement personnel that I might be out of compliance - any mention of this in the new guide? I catch a lot of early season fish on the sliders! If I have to, I'll set up a blow up doll with a life jacket and sunglasses for those days that I can't muster a second crewmember.

I think it means two lines, I would not be afraid to run sliders, let's not start a new argument about how NY words their laws, enough is enough.

From the NY DEC regulations site for Lake Champlain: " Each fishing line may have no more than two baited hooks or artificial lures with or without added natural bait."

So we're good with sliders on both sides.

Two rods keeps me plenty busy when I'm solo, and I fish by myself most days.

I checked with DEC, you can run one slider or similar device with one lure or hook on that device per rod. I agree with Bottom dollar....I don't have auto pilot so I'm good as is.

Ha, yeah, I have AP (well, an ipilot) and it's still more than enough to pay attention to. Sonar, Fish Hawk probe speed, rigger depth, GPS plotter, wind and waves, plus trying to relax and enjoy myself...

Yeah, with my small boat and all the junk in it, I have no choice. It dictates one person and just when you think you got it down and everything is running smooth, you get a double...not complaining when that happens but that's then the fun (????) really starts....Ever heard the term Chinese Fire drill ?

ok...so let me ask, though scared to do so as a 'bass' guy haha ! While you were scanning the rules did you happen across the use of the "Alabama Rig"? ( a 3-5 arm/lure umbrella rig)
Some states allow them...some restrict it... thoughts?
