Great stuff Bill, I should go over to the Conte Lab the next time they have open house, it is only 6 miles from my house. They are working on Sturgeon and American eels as well as the salmon, and I believe that they have done important research on striped bass as well. I think that they are beginning to debunk the long held design standards of fish ladders. I believe this field work all started with the study of Shad back in the early 70's On the adjacent Connecticut River. A lot of important work goes on at this lab and we should all hope that funding continues. Representative Silvio Conte was a great friend of the sportsman.

That's really interesting and kind of surprising that there's still so much we don't know about these fish and their behavior and physiology. Thanks for the link.

X2 on hoping that the funding for this research keeps coming.
