Salmon Stocking ? and hopefully some answers

Post by Captain Paul »

Has anyone been catching many of the Salmon that where stocked this spring ? Because we normally catch quite few over the spring and summer 200 plus probably but this season we have only caught 3 or 4 has me worried that we may have had a survival problem with them this year. Whats every ones thoughts on this compared to years past

I only caught 2 this year (same day, same spot), but as soon as I started to catching them I went to larger spoons and eliminated them.

something does not seem right I know the Cormorants ate a lot of them between Shelburne farm and Otter Creek but the rest of the Lake should still be showing more of them than what we have seen

Only 3 for me over about 25 fishing days. 2 in Converse 1 west of Shelburne. You're right, it's usually a lot more in late July-August.

I haven't seen but a handful in the past couple weeks. I was using small spoons down deep to try for whitefish and was a little surprised to have not brought up a small salmon.

Caught a bunch of them about a month ago, but really have not put much effort into salmon this year.
