Ocean City MD

Post by Gecha (Gerry) »

We moved to Ocean City, MD for the summer.

We traded fishing salmons and lakers for Tuna, Mahi Mahi, flounders, rockfish, and bluefish.

Salt water fishing is very different from fresh water, but is very hard on boat, engine, and any metal on boat or fishing rods.

We finally got the pontoon ready and hope to be fishing almost every day.

Here is the first flounder I caught this season

I also captured a lobster with funny claw.

Flounder and lobster were both same size.... length was 2.5" ... that's right 2.5" not 25"... I put them back to grow a bit more :P :P

This is the view I have from my patio door at night...

you can see a glance of our pontoon on the left side.

Will try to keep you posted as we catch some specimens worth showing.
Wishing you all an exceptional nice summer and lets hope the fish cooperate as in your dreams.

If you come in the neighborhood, we will be more that happy to show you around and share some secret fishing tips.

See you back on the pond in Sept.

flounder & fluke fishing rules! I believe that is a fluke pictured as they have a huge mouth compared to a flounder.

Hi everyone,
I was hoping to do a lot of salt water fishing this summer, but life decided otherwise.
On July 6, I suffered a massive heart attack while I was on the water.
I got back to the dock, called 911 and the ambulance brought me to the regional hospital where they performed an Angioplasty and installed a stent.

They released me on Wednesday, and I am recovering normally.

That means no fishing for the next few weeks, luckily we have friends and neighbors that regularly go offshore, so we get our share of fresh tuna steaks.

Wishing you all a great summer, be safe of the water, and continue posting.

Got back home Saturday evening.
I was not able to enjoy my summer as much as anticipated. Fishing was not great, caught a lot of flounder throwbacks, but only managed to catch 2 keepers, the last one on my last day fishing last Thursday.
Now it's time to go back to fishing Champlain and enjoy the cold water biting.
