Overnight Fishing

Post by Gecha (Gerry) »

I took an overnight fishing trip with friends last weekend.
Left dock Friday around noon and headed 65 miles offshore on our friend's beautiful 43' Longfin

Can't ask for better weather

It took us about 3 hours to get to the fishing ground

It started to get real dark as we're getting close to land our first tuna... Took exactly one hour to bring it to the boat... what a strong fish.
Image

and they're fighting even more once landed.... pretty messy job... It's a blood bath

Bites were furious and hard... always a big fight to bring them to the boat
Image

And they kept coming all night long
Image

It was tough work, some couldn't make it.

It's time to show our catches... 12 yellow fin tunas boated, ranging from 27 to 65 lbs

And time to clean up the boat.

and savor some excellent meals

Thanks a lot to our great friends Tom and Lance Smith in Ocean City, MD for this memorable trip aboard their Longfin. Something I will cherish for a long time.

Blood bath. I would be nice if the silvers in LC would be as big. Good luck to all for fall fishing.
