Warm next 10 days...

The forecast looks great beginning tomorrow starting a 10 day warming trend with a lot of south wind. Pretty thick ice that extends out 1,000-1,500 feet at Converse. My 22 month consecutive fishing streak is in jeopardy with the last time out December 21st. Warm next 10 days for the ice fishermen at...

Re: Better understanding of your transducer

I like the 83 kHz setting on my Lowrance for targeting (custom depths entered at 20-100 feet on my HDS-7) in search of suspended fish and bait. The 200 kHz example vs. the 50 kHz is a great example for showing the difference at the bottom for folks targeting that area. Great topic Andre! This would ...

Re: walleyes

Might be a good launching point to start a Walleye section like we did with the trout / salmon tactics. People would have a place to share best practices and some of their results. This might motivate folks to get out there and try it around sunset to midnight or early before sunrise for those early...

Re: walleyes

I remember a biologist telling us at a seminar 2 years ago there is more walleye out there than people realize. Very few people are targeting them. They also said (data shared) at the seminar they are learning that stocking the fish in the same watershed or location they took the eggs from and as a ...

Re: walleyes

This topic comes up every 3-4 years on the forum. What happened to the walleye's? We stopped fishing them in 1987 after a very successful run that began in 1980. Wasn't fun anymore going out and getting skunked 90% of the time after 1987 while targeting them after 8:30 pm July-August our favorite mo...

Re: Bait/depth for salmon

If it starts slipping I replace the rubber piece as it degrades after a season or two. I never use the clear tubing. I think most run without the clear tubing.
