I'm going to try trolling for salmon and lakers on northern Lake George in a couple of weeks-- any advice for a newbie? Took a drive around today to see what the ice looks like. Started in Fairfax along Lamoille River above dam (half open water / half grey slushy coverage). Then by Arrow Head Lake (completely covered, but with grey slushy ice--no one fishing). Lower Lamoille was covered but not safe. Sandbar did have...

How did the warm temps affect what little ice we have? Any reports on ice thickness in the Islands? The Gut?
