Westport launch 10/29

Well, the Westport docks have been removed, however there should be enough water for anyone who decides to launch there for the derby. I launched my 16 foot Boston Whaler there today and used a pair of hip waders, and in a way, it was actually easier than launching with the Docks in place. The shall...

Boats were in and out of Westport all day, including me, probably 30 inches of water in the shallow spots at the end of the channel, I checked with a pole

Re: Launch water depth

Westport is doable, but I would tilt up or use your trolling motor to go straight out, there is a spot just beyond the buoys where they stopped dredging where it is probably just a little over 2 feet deep.

Re: Westport Launch

Boats have been going in and out of the launch all weekend so far. it’s about 3 feet deep at the end of the dock, may get a little shallower out past the markers for a bit, but just go slow and stay in the middle of the channel until you’re out aways and you should be OK.

8/10 Westport

Had some free time midday, and in spite of the heat went out and trolled for a bit, Riggers were down 75 feet to find temperature, had a few knock offs and picked up a few dinks on crazy Ivan minkler and Raz. Could only stand the heat for so long, so I packed it in and on the way home found a spot t...

That’s great! I’ve been planning on targeting them this season, bought some deep diving sticks that are supposed to be pretty hot.

Re: Rotary derby team reunion south

I fished Westport and South this morning, good temperature was about 75 feet down, did seven silvers in two hours, clean, healthy fish, lost two good ones on heavy headshakes, minimal fleas, blue and nickel Speedys took most of the hits. Was running about two and three-quarter, no Lakers, but I am w...

Westport 6/22

Skunk off of my latest project within the first half hour. Flying blind with no electronics installed yet, ran three Dipsy rods just as kind of a shakedown, out with Hawkeye, and picked up a fat male 22 inch pig on a blue and silver mooselook, picked up a another quality salmon on the same lure a co...

Westport 6/2

Went out for my overdue seasonal shakedown run tonight, not a lot of action but I did pick up one healthy 20 inch silver on a blue and silver mooselook wobbler at 40 feet down 30 feet back. The funny thing was that it started jumping like crazy at the boat and before I could get him into the net wit...
