Re: Miles and miles, Chasin’ tail
How is the lake level at the launch? My boat has been in the shop most of the year but it's ready to go now. thinking of running down to Converse and launching over the weekend.

Re: New boat enclosures and repair
I'm headed up to pick up my boat from the guy named Dennis in Georgia. I'm sure the work is great but I'm going to warn buyer beware. I took the boat up for an estimate to replace the vinyl and zippers on it. the sunbrella is fine. Was told a price of about $800, and certainly less than $1000. Was p...

Re: Late start tomorrow
Finally made it out at 4:30 and the temps are blown right out. I had 70 at 75 ' , my spots are all done for a while , time to figure something else out. I saw a few pods of bait with a few fish working them , but below 90. I think I'll wait for the wind to change . Give me a north wind any day. Tho...

Lowrance Elite 7 Chirp vs Lowrance Hook 7
My old lowrance crapped the bed and I tried to order an Elite 7 with the Chirp technology from Cabelas. apparently they are out of stock for the season. the closest I can find is the Hook 7. I don't need the GPS because I use the I-Pad for navigation now. The Hook 7 seems to be a reasonable price at...

Re: Silvery Sunny Sunday
Saw you guys pull into Jolleys at the end of the day towing the boat. Had to take off or would have run over to talk a minute. Great day on the water. My boat is at Marble Island so I got beat up on the broad lake for a while Sunday and had to come off just as it was laying down. Got a couple of fis...

Re: First time out
Yes, it was nice to get out and it was a beautiful afternoon. I'm sure I'll be adding more stuff to the boat and tweaking the setup moving forward. Already have a couple of ideas rolling around in my head. I used to fish the Inland Sea a ton and haven't done very well there in a long time. Going to ...

First time out
Finally have pretty much all the new stuff on the boat and it's in the water. Since buying this Trophy 2052 in November back from the guy I sold it to in 2009, I've been psyched to get on the water. Yesterday was my birthday and it was beautiful out so I left the office at noon and was headed out of...

Re: spring tips
Simple. Grey Ghosts, 'Magog Smelt, Black Ghosts on sink-tip fly line, well back from the boat at 1.8sog. Mylar tube flies can also be productive - try different colors. You can also extend the early season by using 2 colors of lead core in the same fashion. Don't hesitate to try a small flatfish in...

Berlin Pond Bill H.33
Guys, I just received the below from a friend, and I'm not including his name because I don't have his permission to do so. I do, however, agree with everything he is saying and he says it so much better than I could. I know this is a Lake Champlain Forum, but as sportsmen we are all in it together ...

Picked it up at West Marine this morning. Going to wrap it and put it under the tree for myself for Christmas.

Re: Ray Marine Autopilot discontinued for cable steered boat
I have one on the way from West Marine. Online was showing out of stock but the store in South Burlington was able to locate 15-20 of them in other stores across the country and is having one shipped and it should be here Wednesday. I was hoping to get in online and avoid the sales tax but wasn't ab...

Re: Ray Marine Autopilot discontinued for cable steered boat
Ron is right and I need one. I talked with one of the sales reps, somehow got connected to one on the west coast, and he confirmed for me. They did have some problems with the drive units, usually with ones that were put on boats that were too big for the system by guys trying to save a few bucks. O...
