Re: ice fishing question
I'm with homewrecker ! Holiday Harbor would be perfect ! Bruce and his wife are nice folks and run a clean place. You can even get a package deal that includes accommodations and a heated shanty ! There's perch, crappie, sunfish, big pike, bass and the occasional walleye... They're located in North...

Re: ice fishing question
Thanks Homewrecker. I went to their site. It would only be about an hour further a ride from my house in NY but I think it has some good potential.
Much appreciated....

ice fishing question
Yep...I know it is still early for ice fishing but trying to plan a trip for me and my 10 year old daughter this winter. Each year we do a father/daughter weekend somewhere away from home. Last year we spent a couple days on Raquette lake and had a blast on small lake trout but she has decided this ...

South Bay
Fished South Bay yesterday for the majority of the day but found the AM to be much better. Ice was between 4 and 5 inches thick in the southern part of the bay. Targeted specifically crappie and was able to keep 18 between 10 and 12 inches. Put back probably another dozen or so that were keeper size...

Re: Big Perch thru the ice
That is a beauty. The only thing I don't like about them big old females is the meat tends to be tough. At least the big ones in the local reservoir by my house traditionally are.
Congratulations none the less.

Re: Ice Shanty
That was a nice gift! Blue's price is dirt cheap for a 3000. If I wanted another...I would have jumped on it! You'd think at that price for a shanty used a handful of times it would go fast. Ironically after posting on 2 forums and the local Albany craigslist I have had no bites. Oh well, I guess I...

Re: Ice Shanty
Lateforwork...I have a shappell 3000dx that i am trying to sell. Used it about a half dozen times and is like new. Only selling it because I don't use it. I am usually not a tip up guy and move a lot in search of panfish so a flip over is better suited for me. I have been asking 150 for it but could...

Re: Tips for cold weather fishing.
That is pretty much all I do. I do stop using my livewell though and start to use a cooler instead in the later fall before ice up. I am always nervous I won't get all the water out of my livewell pump assembly. I also pull the plug after each use and make sure I put it in again before the next. Out...
